Reflection

My favorite project this semester was our video project in Adobe Premiere. The reason why this was my favorite project was because I’ve always been interested in video editing however, I have never dove deep into learning about it.

In the future, I do plan on making my own YouTube videos and potentially diving into film making. Even though my video didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to, I still enjoy making it, because I was able to learn how to avoid the mistakes that I made in my video. Currently, I am getting a digital technology and culture with a concentration on social media, so I envision myself being a social media content strategist, what influence me to choose this career path was one of my past classes, however learning about how influencers work helped reassure myself that the knowledge that I needed was out there to achieve my goal.  For example, throughout the whole semester everything we did was very structured and because of this I was able to understand that everything has structure in a way.

One thing I wish we had learned more about is Google ads and Facebook ads. This is because a lot of careers persist on people having these certifications when in regards to social media or even journalism. A website that helped influence me and gave me direction in my projects was 99designs.

Pando: Get Over It, Haters: 99designs Has Tipped

It has many blog posts that have to do with branding, logos and design in general. Overall I feel like the class has reassured me that my concentration for my degree (social media), is what I thought it was. Social media has created a landscape of careers for me to dive into, that can flow in many directions. This could be in advertising, blogging, influencer marketing and more. The numerous directions seem overwhelming right now, however I am just glad I can rely on not being in one place.
